Materials for edible buildings

If we are going to grow food on our house, we will make sure that the material from which our house is made is at least not polluting during its use. That is why it is a matter of principle to start growing food on and in our houses.

As far as the materials to be used are concerned, I think there are lots of products to come. Much will need to be said about ecological qualities of products. The word "sustainable" can mean anything.

The world is our home and we don't want to pollute it.

Where people used to live surrounded by living things, we now live between dead things. We have to maintain dead things ourselves, and because of this sustainability in the sense that something lasts a long time with little or no maintenance, is important. But that often conflicts with sustainability in the sense that it must not pollute our world. Houses have never in history been living things, but we can make more life on and around it.
